Crafted from select vineyards in the Waihopai and Wairau Valleys of Marlborough, the Babich Marlborough Pinot Gris 2024 is a beautifully layered and aromatic white wine that offers both vibrancy and richness. This certified organic and vegan-friendly blend is predominantly Pinot Gris (88%), with small additions of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Albariño adding depth, freshness, and complexity.

The fruit was gently pressed after a short period of skin contact, with the juice undergoing 48 hours of lees stirring prior to clarification to enhance mouthfeel and texture. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine's natural fruit purity and freshness.

On the nose, it is pungent and expressive, with notes of sweet apple, pear, lime, and hints of stone fruit and nutmeg. The palate is lush and creamy, offering flavours of pear, ginger, and baked apple, with a lingering lime finish and soft spice that adds definition and focus.

Perfectly suited to modern cuisine, this Pinot Gris shines alongside snapper fillets rolled in fresh breadcrumbs and shallow-fried, or hot baked ham with glazed kumara, where its creamy texture and vibrant acidity provide harmony and lift.
